Sticky streptavidin

Streptavidin (Streptavidin,SA) is a homotetrameric protein secreted by Streptomyces avidin (Streptomyces avidinii) during growth. Like avidin, one mole of streptavidin can bind four moles of biotin, with a high affinity for biotin. Because SA does not contain sugar, SA has a lower non-specific binding level than pro-hormone in detection applications. It has been widely used in enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, immunohistochemistry, time-resolved immunofluorescence (TRFIA), quantitative PCR, single-stranded DNA preparation, biological molecule purification, monoclonal antibody preparation and other biotechnology fields. However, the adsorption of streptavidin is poor, especially in practical applications, it is difficult to adsorb to NC membrane or embed. The viscous recombinant streptavidin (S-rSA) is mainly to solve this problem, which not only has the core sequence related to activity, but also is superior to natural SA in adsorption, stability and solubility, especially in NC membrane.
